For Quilting Arts Magazine’s® 2008 calendar contest, “A Novel Idea,” readers were challenged to show us in stitch, fabric, and embellishment how a favorite work of fiction inspired them, influenced their life, changed them, made them laugh, or brought them joy. Was it a character, the story, the setting, or the writing itself? Or did the book bring to mind a special time or person in their life?
